What to tell yourself when you feel down

Have you ever woken up feeling in top shape, you’re full of ideas and ready to conquer the world? And then soon afterwards you see something or read something that pushes you off the rails? Or maybe everything was going ok for you the whole day and then this one thing just gets you in your head.

Believe it or not I’ve felt that way too many times and that is completely normal. What matters is whether you stay in that bubble of negativity or you get up and go on with your day.

Failure doesn’t come from falling down. Failure comes from not getting up.” – Zig Ziglar

You are enough

The thing is people always look for something to better them. They always think that if they are not perfect then they are not worthy of something. But the truth is that everything we need to achieve our goals is already inside of us. Realizing that you are enough is realizing that you are not flawless. We all make mistakes, but the fact that we do not fixate on that makes us “enough”.

We shouldn’t judge ourselves so harshly because of what we are and how we act. At the end of the day we are what we are and we should accept it. Of course this doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t strive for more, but in this case it depends where this is coming from.

You might want to be more open, more free or more honest, however this won’t be a matter of changing yourself , but rather being yourself more. From the day your were born you were already enough, you are enough now and you will be enough in the future.Nobody can be better at being you than you yourself.

So next time you feel like declining an offer or putting away an idea, remind yourself just how awesome you are.

Everything is temporary

Regardless of what situation you are in, you need to know that you will get through it. Just as trees stay and withstand everything that nature throws at them you have to be an immovable pillar in the whirlpool that is called life. Moments and feelings come and go and can’t make an actual impact on us,unless we let them.

There is practically no reason whatsoever why you should even spend more than a minute on something that you cannot change. Every moment spent worrying or thinking about things you have no control over is a moment wasted. The reason why we fixate so much on memories and moments that have angered us at some point is because we find comfort in them.

The feeling of being a victim is way sweeter than letting go of the negativity. This is why most people prefer having the same painful scenarios play on repeat in their minds for months at a time, rather than just moving on. But you are not like most people.

As Eckhart Tolle says in his book “New earth” : Whenever you find yourself in a situation you do not want to be in just say the following thing “This too shall pass”. The moment you realize that every situation and feeling is temporary is the moment you start to enjoy life.

I am grateful for….

Since you’re reading this you probably have access to internet. You most likely have a roof over your head as well and have access to food and water. Interestingly enough a lot of people don’t have such luxuries. Some people are forced to work from an early age only to be able to afford a few meals a day and a place to sleep.

The saddest part here is that almost nobody appreciates these kind of things. We are raised with the thought that we somehow deserve all of this and it’s our right to have them.

However there are a lot of people who have it a lot worse than us,they’re born with a disability or live in a family with a single mother/father. And this could happen to absolutely everyone. This is why we should be grateful everyday for having what we have.

We should be grateful for waking up every morning, for having something to eat every day,for having a roof over our heads and people who care about us.

Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” – Eckhart Tolle

Most of the time when you pick up a new thing to do you’re put in the beginner’s seat. Everything seems so vague and foreign that you might feel discouraged really soon. At some point you might even think that this is way too difficult for you and that you might never get the hang of it.

In times like these you need to look back and think about all the things you’ve achieved so far. All the times you’ve felt like giving up,but in spite of that you kept going.

Always remind yourself how much you’ve already achieved to erase every trace of doubt you have in yourself.
